What is Cold Weather Shelter?
The Cold Weather Shelter is a collaborative partnership with Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center and the Faith community in Howard County. This ministry focuses on providing a safe and warm haven for homeless families and individuals during the coldest months of the year. Grassroots relies on the strength and hospitality of the congregations who provide meals, activities, transportation, and most importantly, a warm and welcoming environment for the homeless in Howard County.
This is a ministry that touches so many and allows us to be a part of something much larger than ourselves. We do this to honor Jesus by following his teachings in Matthew 25:35-40.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me”
