What is WAVE?
WAVE is what happens here at St. John on
Wednesday evenings throughout the program year! WAVE stands
for WEDNESDAY AWESOME VOYAGE EXPERIENCE!
A wonderful, well-balanced meal and is prepared
each week for WAVE participants and is served at 6 PM! Each week
is a different theme! The meal has a suggested donation of just $3 per person (maximum
$15 per household), comes complete with tossed salad, with choice
of dressings, anything from hotdogs and hamburgers to glazed ham,
vegetables, drinks...oh, don't forget the dessert! Volunteers
bring the desserts each week...maybe you have a favorite you'd
like to bring!

September 12th: Favorite Color Day - Wear Yours!
September 19th: Paint A Masterpiece - Sponge & Marble Style
September 26th: Tye Dye Night - Wear Your Favorive Tye Dyed Garment
October 3rd: Rainbow Night
October 10th: You Are My Sunshine - Make A Sun Catcher
October 17th: The Colors of Fall
October 24th: Ten Black Dots - What Do You See?
October 31st: NO WAVE
November 7th: Ice Cream Night
November 14th: Balloon Night
What menus are planned?
Whenever possible, the menues are connected
to the theme for the week! Chinese Night would indicate that the
menue might include some fried rice and egg rolls or something
like that...it's a challenge for the menu planners! Come and see
what they come up with! The first night of WAVE is traditionally
our Italian night!
What kinds of activities are planned?
For the younger ones, a great time filled
with crafts and story time excites all of the senses! They are
grouped by ages and are well supervised.
What ages can participate?
From Toddlers through 6th grade! Other activities
are planned for those of confirmation age, 7th through 9th grades.
